Waiting on the Sky to Change

I was listening to Breaking Benjamin's new song, Awaken, and I saw the image of the band with a solar eclipse overlaid, and it reminded me of a picture I took recently: It's an image of a black measuring scale that I'd spilled baking soda/natron upon while filling up a glass jar. It's not really anything special, but it prompted a dive into some poetry:

From the dark scales of the Universe
Spills out sand in a circle
Our shadows eclipsed by grains of substance
Seeds of faith
Our cosmic dance is desperately searching for meaning
But it is nothing when we destroy ourselves
And grind our bones into
Gruel for giants
